About fungi.ie
fungi.ie is an independent Irish site that publishes data and news about mushrooms and fungi.
What fungi.ie publishes
Short data pieces that put scattered official figures in one place, or calculate a number that hasn't been published before: mushroom poisonings, food safety and regulation, research and trials, and the Irish mushroom sector. Psilocybin is covered as news and research only.
fungi.ie doesn't sell anything, carry advertising or give health, dosing or foraging advice. Nothing here is medical advice. If you think someone has eaten a poisonous mushroom, contact a doctor or the National Poisons Information Centre.
How the data is sourced
- Every figure links to its source and shows the date it was accessed.
- The page says when a figure comes from a news report rather than the original body, and when two sources disagree.
- Every calculation shows its working, and the page says plainly when figures from different countries or systems are not directly comparable.
- Where official figures aren't published, fungi.ie asks for them and says so on the page.
- The data behind each piece is free to reuse under CC BY 4.0: please credit fungi.ie and link to the page.
